Starcraft on Touchscreen...

While waiting for StarCraft II to come and sweep everything that has been made before with its beauty, watch this video. In it, the guy who took it, plays the original StarCraft but instead of using the familiar mouse+keyboard combination, he guides his units by pointing them on a touchscreen. I am eager to try it myself, only I will have to find a touchscreen first. As I said to a friend of mine, the touchscreen brings a new strategic element to the game :)

Wiki of the Day: Superhero

Wikipedia continues to surprise me every single day. The guys have even put an article about superheroes. Cool!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A superhero is fictional character "of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest,” [1] Since the debut of the archetypal superhero, Superman, in 1938, stories of superheroes — ranging from brief episodic adventures to continuing years-long sagas — have dominated American comic books and crossed over into other media.

By most definitions, characters need not have actual superhuman powers to be deemed superheroes, although sometimes terms such as costumed crimefighters[2] are used to refer to those without such powers who have many other common traits of superheroes.

The term was once trademarked, and co-owned by DC Comics and Marvel Comics.

The Tool : MeeTimer

Finally, I found it. From now on, every time when I complain about how much time I'm losing while surfing the net with no particular purpose, I will be able to see a detailed list, including every page that I've visited, as well as the exact time that I've been on it. I can even divide the pages by categories, like on the photo .Yes, it is that simple, using this Firefox extension: MeeTimer. You can see a more detailed description of the tool here.

Download it.

How to cope with tough situations

This video shows the advantages of not being very well known by your professors. Sometimes this is a big PLUS. By the way the quality of the video is pretty bad, but it doesn't stop you from getting the idea. Enjoy!

The Movie: Eurotrip (2004)

Better late than never, people use to say. In the case with Eurotrip, the saying was absolutely correct. Even though it is three years old, due to numerous reasons, I watched it for the first time merely two weeks ago. Then, I immediately realized how much time I had lost looking for a good movie like this one.

If You read the plot, there seems to be nothing special in the whole story - just another teenage story. And this, I thin is its charm - it does not engage your mind with serious stuff, complex plot lines, or character dilemmas. It is just what it has to be - a light and a very funny pre-college story that takes plac in Europe, rather than in the US. As the subtitle of the movie says : NO ACTUAL EUROPEANS WERE KILLED IN THE MAKING OF THIS FILM.

BG Automobile

Photos from: Graphilla.com

I found some really nice images of the Bulgarian concept automobile, codenamed SMC, rendered in 3D Studio.

The Eye of the Storm

You may have heard, or perhaps experienced the storm that came over the Sofia district yesterday. Luckily (or not), I was right there, going back home. It was as terrible as bTV News described it. These are some of the photos that I took with my phone camera. I apologize for the low quality. Click on the images to make them larger.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish : Steve Jobs

I finally managed to find the video of Steve Jobs' commencement address, read in 2005 in front of Stanford graduates. Even though I was intrigued when I read the speech, it is, indeed far more motivating to listen to Apple/Pixar's CEO, one of the most charismatic personalities of our time, talking about the lessons he learned in his lifetime. Highly recommended.
